Shawn Lynn-Bequette
Swim Instructor
Coach Shawn grew up in Topeka, Kansas, where she swam for the Topeka Swim Association (TSA) and Mid America Swim Team (MAST) under legendary coaches Casey Converse and Paul Shubert.
Before joining the Blazers in 2013, Shawn served as the Head Assistant Coach for TSA from 1994–1996. During that time, she attended the 1995 National Age Group Coaching Conference, coached the 11–12 Girls Zone C Team in 1996, and helped establish TSA’s first weight training program as well as the Varsity (High School) team.
From 2013–2018, Shawn was the Head Coach of the Roeland Park Stingrays.
In 2017, she became the Head Age Group 1&2 Coach for the Kansas City Blazers, where she continued to develop swimmers through the summer of 2025.
She also coached the Missouri Valley Swimming (MVS) All-Star Team in 2020 and served as Head Coach from 2021–2023 and also coached the 11–12 Girls MVS Zone C Team in the summer of 2023.
She is now coaching with C26 Hub and Empire Kansas City Swim Team, continuing her dedication to helping athletes grow both in and out of the pool.
While coaching for TSA, Shawn attended Washburn University, where she studied Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology, along with Public Relations.
