Alexa Turpen
Swim Instructor
Alexa Turpen is a proud Overland Park native with a lifelong passion for swimming, science, and working with people of all ages. A dedicated competitive swimmer, Alexa brings energy, creativity, and adaptability to everything she does in and out of the pool. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Zoology, blending her academic interests with a curiosity‑driven, innovative mindset.
Known for her upbeat and approachable personality, Alexa excels at connecting with athletes of all ages and adapting her coaching style to meet individual needs. She values creativity, patience, and continuous learning, and strives to create an encouraging environment where swimmers can grow both personally and athletically.
Outside of swimming, Alexa volunteers at Cedar Cove Feline Conservatory, where she helps feed tigers and care for baby lion cubs—an experience that reflects her deep commitment to animal care, responsibility, and hands‑on learning.
